oandmA star-studded line-up and an attacking set-up to rival most AFL clubs awaits the Peninsula FL in this year's WorkSafe Country Championships on Saturday May 23.

It's probably the last thing you want to face at the end of a long road trip is a team full of key-position stars, with big-game experience, primed and ready on their home deck.

But while the Ovens and Murray squad may be brimming with AFL experience, including names such as Brendan Fevola, Sentanta O'hAilpin and Mathew Westhoff, the Peninsula FL remains confident of victory.

The 3v4 play-off in Albury looms as one of the most anticipated of the WorkSafe Country Championships with two powerhouse leagues set to battle it out for the right to play for the No.1 ranking in 2016.

While the Peninsula FL boasts the likes of former AFL players Brett O'Hanlon, Brent Guerra and Arron Edwards, what awaits them is a scary proposition.

Despite a few injury concerns, Fevola is again tipped to pull on the O&M jumper in his second year as coach of the representative side.

After leading his chargers to stirring win last year, Fevola is one step closer in his quest to drag the competition back to the top of country football.

Another giant in Adam Prior is another likely starter with the power forward doing the damage in 2014 with 11 goals in the clash against Hampden FL.

And if that pair doesn't work, Fevola could call on O'hAilpin or the supremely talented former Port Adelaide player in Matthew Westhoff.

Despite not having the profile of their teammates, country guns Kristan Height, Joel Mackie and James Saker are others that must be contained for the Peninsula league to have any chance.

But after falling to the Geelong FL in the battle for No.1 last year, the Peninsula FL has carefully planned an assault on their northern counterparts.

All coaches in the interleague set-up are free of club responsibilities and steps have been taken to encourage player commitment.

League CEO Jeff Jones said a talented squad had begun training three weeks ago and boasted several big names but also a group of exciting youngsters.

"We've been unlucky to lose a few big guys to injury with Ash Eames, Anthony Barry and Jamie Messina but we've still got a great mix of youth and experience."

"After last year we have made several changes to the structure to make sure we have the best players in the league available."
