An inspired performance from Marty McKenzie led Mathoura to its second win of the season, as the forward booted 14 goals as the Timbercutters defeated Yarroweyah 20.16 (136) to 14.7 (91).

Only five points separated the teams at the first break, but the visitors led by 67 points going into the last term.

Chris Allingham (three goals) and Luke Egan also starred for Mathoura, while Jimmy Cherry, Andrew Jones (five goals) and Paul Iskov were the best for the Grasshoppers.

■ Jerilderie's Aaron Purcell kicked eight goals and Picola United's Brett Vallender nine goals as the Demons ran out 20.13 (133) to 12.5 (77) winners today.

The Demons trailed by four points at the first break but won every quarter after that in the 56-point win.

Jak Payne (three goals), Brad Parker and Lauchy Taylor-Nugent were the best for the home side, while Tom Lindsay and John Walker tried hard for the Blues.

■ Berrigan retained third spot on the ladder after a tough win away against Blighty, 15.8 (98) to 12.15 (87).

Jack Hill, Grant Martin, Jack Mynard and Ron Middleton (five goals) led the way for the Saints, who led from wire to wire, while Kyel Bain, Zeke Flanagan (seven goals) and Judd Barnes worked hard to keep the Redeyes in the contest.

■ The final game saw Strathmerton pull away to defeat Deniliquin Rovers 19.14 (128) to 13.8 (86).

Zach Fletcher (two goals), Shaun Downie (three goals), Marcus Cleary (one goal), Adam Laidlaw (five goals) and Josh Evans (four goals) were the best for the Bulldogs, while Lachie Small, Chris O'Connor and Gilbert McKinnon tried hard for the Rovers.

Terry Lumbar also kicked three majors.
