Central Highlands Football League round 10 review.

The Magpies collected just their third win of the Central Highlands Football League season with the 10.11 (71) to 8.11 (59) triumph on Saturday afternoon.

Springbank's defeat comes two weeks after a thumping at the hands of rivals Gordon and means - with four losses already in 2014 - that a top four berth is extremely unlikely.

The Tigers remain seventh on the ladder ahead of a massive clash against third-placed Waubra next weekend.

Meanwhile, Beaufort almost pulled off a similar upset, but fell to Daylesford by six points at home.

The Bulldogs remain eighth on percentage behind Springbank following the 9.5 (59) to 8.5 (53) win.

All other results went to plan in a wet and muddy day of football around the competition.

Hepburn continued its run of good form with a 58-point win over Ballan, Learmonth bounced back from two-straight defeats with a 39-point victory against Dunnstown and Bungaree remains unbeaten following a comprehensive 80-point thrashing of Rokewood-Corindhap.

Buninyong got some much-needed percentage, holding Smythesdale scoreless in a 229-point thumping, Waubra beat Creswick by 21 points, Gordon got home over Carngham-Linton by 64 points and Newlyn, despite losing midfielder Daniel Wehrung (concussion) and centre half forward Leigh Allen (finger) in the first half, prevailed by 25 points over Skipton.
