This Saturday's round 16 games in the Heathcote District Football League.

North Bendigo ruckman Tony Plim.

ELMORE v HUNTLY - 2.15pm Saturday at Elmore.

Last time: Round 7, 2014: Huntly 14.20 (104) d Elmore 9.7 (61).

Since 1995: Elmore 26; Huntly 13.

ELMORE - another rough day at the office for the Bloods against North Bendigo last week when for the second time in their past three games were beaten by more than 160 points.

While they’re still to win a game, gave a glimpse of the footy they are capable of last time against Huntly when they led by 19 points at half-time, but ran out of gas after the break.

HUNTLY - ended their six game losing streak last week with a 75-point victory over Heathcote.

Kicked their highest score of the season - 18.14 (122) - against the Saints.

Such has been their drop-off, last week was only their second score above 100 for the year.

This time last year the Hawks had booted eight scores above 100 en route to the grand final.

LEITCHVILLE-GUNBOWER v MOUNT PLEASANT - 2.15pm Saturday at Gunbower.

Last time: Round 7, 2014: Mount Pleasant 18.12 (120) d Leitchville-Gunbower 14.12 (96).

Since 2010: Leitchville-Gunbower 5; Mount Pleasant 4.

LEITCHVILLE-GUNBOWER - massive game for the Bombers if they want to finish top three and earn the double chance.

They host Mount Pleasant and will climb from fourth to third with a victory.

But lose, like they did against the Blues in round five, they drop two games out of the top three and their double chance destiny is out of their hands.

MOUNT PLEASANT - suffered a near-miss against LBU last week when beaten by six points to end their five-game winning streak.

Must beat the Bombers to maintain their grip on third ahead of the bye next week and then a tough clash against North Bendigo in round 18.

Kain Robins continues to dominate for the Blues.

LBU v NORTH BENDIGO - 2.15pm Saturday at Lockington.

Last time: Round 7, 2014: North Bendigo 10.16 (76) d LBU 8.12 (60).

Since 2001: LBU 21; North Bendigo 9.

LBU - good sides know how to win the tight games - just ask the Cats.

They’ve won their past five games, three of which have been by six points or less.

While the Cats have been the hunted for the past three years, on Saturday they will be doing the hunting against top side North Bendigo in what should be a cracking 1st v 2nd clash.

NORTH BENDIGO - continue to set the pace with a 169-point flogging of Elmore improving them to 12-1 and keeping them a game clear in top spot.

Now have the chance to further show their credentials with an away clash against the three-time defending premiers, but will have to do so without the suspended Daniel Sipthorp in what’s a key blow.

HEATHCOTE v WHITE HILLS - 2.15pm Saturday at Heathcote.

Last time: Round 7, 2014: White Hills 21.14 (140) d Heathcote 4.10 (34).

Since 1995: Heathcote 25; White Hills 15.

HEATHCOTE - a forgettable season is winding down for the Saints, with just two games left before the bye in the final round.

Since notching their first win against Elmore in round 10, the Saints haven’t kicked more than six goals in a game, while down the other end their opponents have all kicked at least 16.

Haven’t lost to White Hills twice in a season since 2005.

WHITE HILLS - gone from top three contender after beating LBU in round nine to now in a scrap just to make the finals.

Lost to Colbinabbin by 35 points last week, which left them just percentage clear of the sixth-placed Grasshoppers.

Only beaten Huntly in their past five games since that win over LBU that at the time had them being touted the real deal.
