malleeflRound 18 of the Mallee Football League gets underway this week, and with only 2 matches left in the regular season, we can expect plenty of action on Saturday.

The match of the round between Ouyen United, and the Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers, kicks off this weeks games, and promises to be a belter. Both teams are building towards their 2014 finals assault and boast a string of damaging players. Marcus Healy has impressed over the past month for the Demons, and will come under a lot of opposition attention as he continues his work up forward.

At the other end of the ground, Andrew Jardine has been holding his own against opposition forwards, but will have to be on top of his game against the goal machine, Cliff Ryan. The midfields of these sides are evenly matched and it is difficult to predict who will get on top. Darcy Ryan will look to get the Tigers running and the experience of Colin Durie will be crucial.

There is a lot more to play for this week than just the 4 points, and many eyes will be looking towards the results of this match.

Hopetoun host Walpeup-Underbool in what will be a fiercely contested match. Hopetoun pushed Woomelang-Lascelles last week right through to the final siren and will be confident in front of their home crowd. The Devils welcomed back their talented duo of Lucas Cook and Coleman Schache from VFL duties last week and their inclusion into this weeks side would go a long way towards victory.
Ben Webster will have a big role to fill this week and will need to kick a few goals to ensure his side get over the line. The Roos stood tall against Beulah last week and there are plenty who will be lining up to claim the points over Hopetoun this week.

Kane Munro will back himself for a bag of goals this week and Ryan Stacey will have plenty of opportunities to use his pace.

The final match of the round sees the undefeated Blues take on bottom placed
Jeparit-Rainbow at Beulah. The Blues welcome Lachy Foott back into the side this week, and he will have a big role to play up forward this week.

Shaun Monohan was back to his best again last week, along with Andrew Hughes, and the Lakers will have to find a way to stop their run towards goal. The Lakers are still striving for their first points of the season, and an upset win isn't out of the question.

Wyatt Bacon has refused to stop competing all season and the Lakers will need plenty of run from Elliot Bath this week.

Woomelang-Lascelles have the bye this week.
