malleeflThis round of the Mallee Football League will complete the first full round and it is then all teams will have a better understanding of where they sit for season 2015.

Undefeated teams Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers and Ouyen United will battle it out with the winner to go four points clear on top of the ladder in what should be a great game.

The Tigers will be fresh off a bye and keen to take back top position on the ladder. It has been the depth of key forwards that has proved hard for their opposition to contain. With the likes of Doering, Arentz and Ryan all posing a threat to kick a bag it will be difficult for the Demons to cover all of these avenues to goal. Andrew Jardine and Aaron Morrish were excellent against the Giants last week and will need another strong performance to give their team the help it needs.

If the Demons can win enough of the ball through the midfield and get it into the hands of their best finishers of Staunton and Peter Caldow, they will certainly give themselves a chance. However, when lining up against Scott Weekley, Bryce Scott and Matt Elliot this will prove difficult.

With potency across all lines the Tigers seem set regain their number one spot.
Coming off a strong win Woomelang Lascelles will host the Southern Mallee

Giants who will be hoping to rebound after a disappointing loss last week. The Giants also suffered a couple of injuries last week to add to the disappointment. David Baulch will miss with a hamstring strain and Jason Turnbull suffered from tightness in the calf and may have to pass a fitness test to prove that he can play on Saturday.

On the other hand the Cats are building and after adding new players last week will go into the game full of confidence. Pierce Liddle and Arnold Kirby have been in great form, and with the inclusion of Charles McAdam are going to prove hard to stop.

Their strength continues down through the younger players in Brodie Adcock and Kane Donnan, and this depth maybe what tests the Giants.

Accountability and pressure are going to be key for the Giants to get back on the winner's list. This will start with onballers Haydn Drew, Riley Norris and Clint Burdett who have all been consistent so far this year. These players may need to defend more than usual to support the backline and reduce the Cats' ability to have a large number of goal kickers.
