OMFNLTwo of the SS&A Ovens & Murray Football Netball League's most talented young netballers have been selected in the Australian 17 & Under Development Squad.

Wodonga Bulldogs' Jane Cook and Jacqueline Newton from North Albury were both members of the all conquering Victorian team who took out the 17 & Under National Netball Championship at Waverly Netball Centre on Saturday. Cook was dominant for the Vic's shooting at 100% accuracy in the tournament decider and finished the game with 21 goals.

Lavington's Emily Browne almost secured a national title herself. The 2012 Toni Wilson medalist was part of the Victorian 19 & Under team who were edged out by Queensland in the Grand Final.

Cook and Newton are following in the footsteps of Browne, who two years ago was also named in the Australian 17 & Under Development Squad.

SS&A Ovens & Murray Football Netball League General Manager Aaron McGlynn said the recent selections were testament to the ever increasing strength of the league.

"With Emily's selection two years ago and now the outstanding efforts from Jacqueline and Jane it just goes to show there is a clear pathway through Ovens & Murray Netball to the elite levels of the sport within Australia".

Both Cook and Newton will now attend national training camps at Netball Australia's Centre of Excellence.
