SALE defeated Traralgon in a high standard Gippsland League netball qualifying final.
The 36-30 win at Traralgon on Saturday moved the Magpies in the second semi-final against minor premier Morwell.
The Maroons led 10-6 at the first change mainly through their shooters, led by Maddie Stockdale. Close and long-range shots from Stockdale went in.
Sale hit back with two outstanding quarters.
The Magpies outscored the Maroons 11-7 in the second term to level scores at half-time.
In the third quarter, with quick movement of the ball, the Magpies scored 11 goals to 10 to lead 28-27 at the final change.
In a defence final quarter, the Magpies scored eight goals to three to win by six.
Kate Eddy and Mel Johnston were solid in defence, rebounding Traralgon shots which bounded off the ring.
Sale's midcourt players set-up scoring opportunities for shooter Lara Dunkley and Fiona Vandersnoek.
Traralgon will meet Moe in the first semi-final on Sunday after the Lions defeated Drouin 45-42 in the elimination final at Sale.
