NhillWimmera-Mail Times | NHILL and Minyip-Murtoa will go head-to-head on Saturday after both having the week off.

Last time they met: Round two, 2015. Minyip-Murtoa 7.12 (54) d Nhill 5.8 (38).

DESPITE winning its past two matches, Nhill coach Alan Bennett is under no illusions his side has plenty of work to do to reach the level of the top Wimmera league sides.

The Tigers take on Minyip-Murtoa at Davis Park on Saturday with a third consecutive win on the cards.

But Bennett says his side should realise where it sits in relation to others, and continue to work hard to bridge the gap.

"I think we've got to be realistic," he said.

"Yes, we've won our past two games, but we haven't altered our ladder position.

"The top six teams are all good sides so it's going to be a good challenge for us."

Bennett said he was aware the Burras were coming off a strong win against Horsham Saints.

He said the Tigers would need to be stoic to absorb the pressure Minyip-Murtoa was sure to bring on Saturday.

"We're looking forward to the challenge, and we've got a bit more confidence, but they're coming off a big win and are challenging for a top-two spot," he said.

"Our issue will be to play four quarters of consistent football and reduce our skill errors."

The Burras handed the Saints their first loss of the season in round eight, and Bennett knows what to expect from the Minyip-Murtoa side.

"They're a big team and they put a lot of pressure on the Saints so we're going to have to be prepared for a physical contest," he said.

Youngster Jake McQueen is a chance to play for the Tigers after missing round eight because of TAC Cup commitments.

Jake Corstens is also available after returning from a knee injury through the reserves.

Burras assistant coach James Burke said Saturday's clash was as significant as any other.

"Where us and them sit on the ladder isn't an accurate reflection of the effort we'll be putting into this game," he said.

"We want to play a high-pressure style of game and it's basically the same style we want to play against most sides.

"We understand Nhill has played with a loose man in defence, so we need to accommodate that and still kick a score.

"We have to win the midfield for sure, and be on top of all the stoppages."

The Burras will likely go in unchanged from the side that knocked off the Saints, but have been dealt a blow with Mark Schulz to miss the rest of the season.

Schulz - who was on the verge of returning to the senior line-up after coming back from injury through the reserves - has ruptured anterior-cruciate ligament.

If the Tigers win and Dimboola falls to Warrack Eagles, the Tigers could see themselves inside the top five on the ladder at the conclusion of round nine.
