Weekly Times | AFTER two years outside football, Stephen Salajan is loving his return to the game at Birregurra.
The 29-year-old spent the past two seasons at Geelong Football League club Colac, under a former Saints premiership teammate Paul Lynch, who was coaching the Tigers.
But Salajan would never play for Colac, as two serious left knee injuries, including one knee reconstruction, forced him to sit out the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
“It’s been pretty good,” Salajan said after his first three games back in the Colac and District league.
“It was taking a bit to get confidence back in it, but now after the first couple of weeks I’ve pretty much forgotten about it when playing, which is good.”
Salajan started playing junior football for South Barwon, where he returned in 2014 after five years with the Saints, but never played in the seniors.
