lindenow southWeekly Times | HAYDN Erfurth’s bag of 23 goals for Lindenow South yesterday was not enough to get him to the hallowed 100th goal this season as two more senior players reached the milestone in Victorian country football.

Dalyston’s Michael Kraska kicked 10 goals yesterday in the Alberton Football League match against Korumburra-Bena, taking his season goal-kicking tally to 104.

In the Warrnambool and District Football League, Merrivale’s Jet Dowie also kicked 10 goals against East Warrnambool, the exact number he needed to reach his tonne

Erfurth needed 25 goals from the Omeo and District Football League match against Swan Reach to reach his century, but finished just shy of the mark.

All three have played 14 senior matches this year.

Erfurth would have been the second Omeo and District league senior player to kick 100 goals this season. Buchan’s Dylan Bolton kicked 25 goals against Swan Reach last month to become the first senior country footballer this season to complete the feat.

Tungamah’s Ash Saunders kicked his 100th goal in the Picola and District League South East division the same day as Bolton.

In all three cases yesterday the goalkickers’ sides recorded huge wins against their opponents. Dalyston, which is undefeated and atop the Alberton league ladder, thrashed the winless Korumburra-Bena 23.16 (154) to 0.2 (2), while Merrivale, also on top of the Warrnambool and District ladder, downed East Warrnambool 41.27 (273) to 0.3 (3).

Lindenow South defeated Swan Reach 35.27 (237) to 8.5 (53) and have one match remaining for Erfurth to complete the feat during the home-and-away season.
