League Review | Calivil United broke Marong’s unbeaten run in Saturday’s eighth round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League.
The Demons were fired up for another big contest on their court at Calivil.
The unbeaten Marong went in as favourite, but it the Demons who lifted in the final quarter to score a 43-40 victory.
Best for Calivil United which is jointly coach by Karen Pascoe and Teigan Redwood were Michelle Balic, Jasmine Condliffe and Lily Buckingham.
The attack was led by Mia McCrann-Peters.
The Demons now have a 5-1 record and have shown they are a strong contender for the premiership.
A great run by Maiden Gully YCW kept going as the Eagles scored a 14-goal win on Bridgewater’s copurt.
In the past three rounds the Christie Griffiths-coached Eagles have beaten Calivil United, Mitiamo and now the Mean Machine.
