Match Reviews | Newbridge fought on to score a four-goal win against Maiden Gully YCW in Saturday’s 15th round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.
The Maroons made their way to the Eagles’ court at Marist College Bendigo in Maiden Gully.
A 48-44 victory ensured the Selina Holland and Kristy Gandy would hold third place and the double chance for finals time at three rounds to go in the home-and-away series.
Although disappointed not to have taken the points the Adam Boldiston-coached Maiden Gully YCW showed it will be no pushover.
In the next three rounds the Eagles play on Marong’s court in Malone Park, face Bears-Lagoon Serpentine in Maiden Gully, and then play at Pyramid Hill’s Mitchell Park.
It’s a tough run for Newbridge which returns to Walker’s Doughnuts Riverside Oval for Saturday’s home game against Pyramid Hill.
The Maroons play at Calivil in the 17th round and then meet Mitiamo a week later in Newbridge.
