Bendigo FNLMatch Reviews | SCORES were locked on 47-all when the whistle sounded to end the A-grade netball match between South Bendigo and Eaglehawk played on Anzac Day.

The night match at Queen Elizabeth Oval in View Street tipped off round three in the Bendigo Bank Bendigo FNL season.

It was the Lauren Bowles-coached South Bendigo which raced to a 15-9 lead by quarter-time.

The Hawks fought back to win the second term, 14-11.

Just two goals separated the teams as the Bloods led 37-35 at a quarter to play.

In the last it was the Jannelle Hobbs-coached Eaglehawk which worked incredibly hard to win the quarter, 12-10.

An absorbing contest played in wet and slippery conditions ended on 47 goals apiece.

A dual premiership-winning coach at Kangaroo Flat, Hobbs also guided South Bendigo into A-grade finals campaigns and has returned to coaching in the Bendigo FNL after a one-season break.

Round three was completed on Saturday afternoon.

Sandhurst was too strong for Golden Square on the blue and gold’s court in Golden Square’s Wade Street.
