A round-up of the weekend's local netball.
Gippsland
TRARALGON moved back into second place on the Gippsland League netball ladder after a 41-31 win at home over Maffra.
It was the only A grade match played last weekend to complete the split round.
The challenges won't get any easier for the bottom-placed Eagles, who will host reigining premier Sale, which only trails Traralgon on percentage, on Sunday.
North Gippsland
LOSSES for Woodside, Traralgon-Tyers United and Cowwarr have kept the race for places in the North Gippsland finals open.
The fourth-placed Wildcats lost at home to ladder leader Rosedale 48-33, while fifth-placed TTU lost 48-36 at Gormandale. The Wildcats are ahead of the Bombers on percentage.
With its win, Gormandale sealed a place in the top three.
Second-placed Heyfield, ahead of the Tigers on percentage, also guaranteed a top three finish after its thrilling 38-36 win over Cowwarr. The Saints remain four points outside the top five.
Sale City recorded its fourth win of the season, 46-44 against bottom side Glengarry.
Yarram also chalked up a fourth victory, defeating Boisdale-Briagolong 50-38.
Still six points outside the top five, Churchill had the bye.
East Gippsland
ALL of the East Gippsland league's seven clubs remain in contention to make the finals.
Wy Yung moved into third place, four points ahead of Lucknow, Orbost-Snowy Rovers and Paynesville, with a 63-48 win over Lucknow.
Second-placed Lindenow defeated Paynesville 56-48.
Bottom side Lakes Entrance is only four points outside the top four after its 42-35 win over Orbost-Snowy Rovers.
Ladder leader Stratford had the bye.
