THIS Saturday, the eagerly anticipated Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League local derby, between Upwey Tecoma and Belgrave will take place at the Upwey Recreation Reserve.
With Belgrave in Division 2 for a number of years, the Tigers v Magpies rivalry has been on hold.
But, after winning the 2012 second division flag Belgrave has returned to the league's top flight and the rivalry is set to resume.
As well as the incentive of the four points ,the teams will, once again, play for the Frank Harris Trophy.
Harris played for Belgrave before World War II and, when the decision was made in 1946 to form the Upwey Tecoma Football Club, he was approached to be the inaugural captain coach, a role he took on immediately.
Harris guided the club to a grand final in his first year and went one better in 1947 when Upwey defeated Belgrave to win the premiership.
Harris died at the age of 46 and, in his honour, the perpetual Frank 'Sticky' Harris trophy was created.
The trophy match was first contested in 1962 and has been played for on 28 occasions with Upwey winning 23 times and Belgrave five times.
It was last played for in 2006, when it was won by Upwey.
The Frank Harris trophy will be held on Saturday, May 4 with senior match set for a 2.10pm start.
