WANDIN's powerful forward line is making room for another gun goalkicker.

The second-on-the-ladder Bulldogs have landed Mooroolbark premiership star and century goalkicker Kire Talveski.

The 28-year-old will debut against Woori Yallock this Saturday, slotting on to a forward line that features another new recruit in league-leading goalkicker Michael Fowkes, who has booted 39 goals this season.

Wandin coach Jarrod Bayliss said the Bulldogs signed Talveski, who had previously committed to playing with Mooroolbark after completing a month of work in Queensland.

Talveski was cleared from the Mustangs to AFL Queensland side Western Magpies where he played two practice matches and one home-and-away game before injuring his calf.

He's since recovered and been cleared from the Magpies to the Bulldogs.

"Kire fits sprinklers and his boss and one of our sponsors are good mates," Bayliss said.

"The sponsor offered him a deal through work to play for us and he's signed with us for two years.

"We're really looking forward to him coming on board, someone of his calibre who's kicked something like 350 goals in the last four seasons. It's really exciting and he is excited."

Bayliss added Talveski wanted to play a role and wouldn't push Fowkes, who arrived at the Kennel this season from Torquay, out of the goal square.

"Kire didn't want to come in midway through the season and burden the team or take someone else's spot," he said.

"He wants to play a role. He will play up the ground a bit and at centre half-forward.

"On the smaller grounds we'll play both of them out of the goal square, which will make us hard to match up on.

"We were lacking another target so he will fill that for us."
