ROUND 9 conjured up a mixed bag of results and several ladder position changes in the Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League.

Pacesetters Upwey Tecoma and Wandin remain at the top of the ladder after recording their seventh wins.

Belgrave's 26-point win over Warburton Millgrove has moved the Magpies to 20 points, alongside the Burras and Woori Yallock.

Olinda Ferny Creek's win over Gembrook Cockatoo lifted the Bloods off the bottom of the ladder to eighth, while Monbulk's poor form continued against Emerald and plunged the Hawks to last place.

Ben Collins took the spearhead tag from brother Mitch in Belgrave's clash with the Burras.

The premiership coach booted six goals in his side's 16.17 (113) to 13.9 (87) win, while his younger sibling, who kicked 135 goals in Division 2 last year, slotted just one goal.

For Warburton Millgrove, Scott Muir booted six.

There was plenty of attention centred on the goal square at Wandin as the Bulldogs unveiled star recruit Kire Talevski.

The ex-Mooroolbark sharpshooter booted four goals on debut, but it was Tyson Wheeler (five goals) who led the goal kicking in the 18.16 (124) to 12.11 (83) victory over Woori Yallock.

At the other end, Nick Tennant was the Tigers' only multiple goalscorer with seven.

Upwey Tecoma overcame wayward kicking to fend off a gallant Rovers outfit.

Daniel Waters shone with seven goals while David Van Hoorn was a standout.

Emerald moved up three places to sixth after beating Monbulk, 12.9 (81) to 11.6 (72), while best-on-ground performance from Owen Millwood inspired the Bloods to a 14.17 (101) to 11.9 (75) win over the Brookers.
