East Gippsland FNLGippsland Times | After not playing finals in 2023, the Magpies are making quite the impression on the rest of the East Gippsland senior football competition after seven rounds.

Lucknow has consistently stood off some closely slated opponents, like a one-point win against Bosidale Briagolong in Round 3, and got the job done against the expected sides. Their only loss has come against reigning premier, Wy Yung, who will most likely be their biggest challenge yet if they are to play off against each other in finals.

Wy Yung – B (second, 5 wins, 2 losses)

THE Tigers looked back in premiership groove some weeks ago, before losses to Stratford by just two points in Round 5 and a sizeable loss to Boisdale Briagolong by 16 points after scoring just 25 points in the second half in Round 8 has brought some questions their way regarding the mental fortitude to win it again in successive years.

Wy Yung have a few easier weeks in a row coming up against Lakes Entrance and Lindenow to ease the tension slightly.
