CRANBOURNE's 2011 premiership coach Doug Koop will not be at Casey Fields in 2014.
Cranbourne delivered the stunning news to its unsuspecting coach last Thursday night and announced on Friday that this season would be Koop's last at the club.
Eagles president Gerry Kelly said Koop's contract would not be renewed after six seasons.
"After consideration of several factors, the board is of the view that it is best for the club and for Doug that a new coaching regime be employed," Kelly said.
It wasn't what Koop expected to hear following discussions about his position over the previous fortnight.
"Last week we'd had a few chats about my position and the club as a whole moving forward," Koop told Leader.
