A goal in the final minute gave Lakes Entrance its second successive victory in a thrilling match on Anzac Day, defeating Orbost-Snowy Rovers by two points.

Trailing by three points at the final change of ends, the Seagulls kicked three goals to two to win 9.8 (62) to 8.12 (60).

Inaccuracy hurt the Blues early, scoring one goal from seven attempts to trail by one point at quarter-time, a margin the Seagulls would carry into the long break after a torrid second term.

The match opened up after half-time, with the Blues scoring four goals in the third quarter to take the lead.

Blues coach Michael Delaney did his best to get his team over the line, with his side leading late into the final term until a turnover provided an opportunity for youngster Brandon Sauer to kick the winning goal for the Seagulls.

Recruit Stephan Zappelli was best for the Blues with Steve Alderton, David Waddell and young gun Curtley Nettleton among the better players.

Matt Dalton and Mathew Dugins led the way for the Seagulls.

Cats finish strongly

LINDENOW finished strongly to run out 41-point victor over Paynesville, 13.11 (89) to 7.6 (48).

Following a tight first quarter, the Cats kept the Gulls scoreless in the second term to open up a handy 28 point lead at half time.

The reigning premier hit back in the third term, reducing the margin to 12 points, but Lindenow finished stronger to run out a comfortable victory.
