Rosedale fought hard to come from two goals down at the final change to deny Traralgon-Tyers United's first win of the North Gippsland football season.
Before the Anzac Day match under lights, the players joined the large crowd in paying their respects as a bugler played The Last Post.
The Bombers looked to have the goods throughout the contest, their run and drive off half-back was a trademark, while their midfield's tenacity at the ball saw the visitors hold the upper hand.
However, the difference in the end would come down to Rosedale's star full forward Andrew Flanagan, who kicked nine goals including the match winner. The Blues kicked the last three majors of the contest to seal a comeback victory, 14.11 (95) to 13.10 (88).
Leading from the outset, the Bombers were sharp and well-drilled, with best-on-ground Pat Sharp leading the charge as the side went into the first change seven points up.
Rosedale added the first goal of the second term through Flanagan before consecutive majors to TTU created a 10-point buffer.
Both teams were unable to score goals until Bombers coach Matt Stolarczyk scored a much needed major to extend their lead to three straight kicks and settle a side which was failing to make the most of its forward line dominance. Consecutive misses to Graham was quickly answered by Rosedale with Flanagan marking an up and under kick to score from 10 metres out.
Tyler Mustoe responded for the Bombers from the centre bounce to register one of his four goals for the evening, which was followed by another to Flanagan ahead of half time with the Bombers leading by 12 points.
There was no love lost between the sides in the third term with the teams scoring three goals each. The heat on the field was intense as both sides worked hard to make the most of their opportunities.
Graham slotted through the opening goal of the second half after a 50 metre penalty. It was the first of two with Graham's second extending the margin beyond 25 points.
Mustoe booted a goal on the run from outside 50, with the Bombers' silky moves from defence placing the Blues under pressure.
The Blues settled in the second half of the term with Brad Scott kicking the first of three majors on the run ahead of the final change.
Leading 11 points at three-quarter-time, the Bombers scored early in the final term through Lachlan White to extend the margin out to 20 points.
It didn't halt the home side as a snap to Flanagan got his side up and about as both backlines felt the immense pressure of keepings off.
Drilling the ball from defence, the run of Gerard Barnes was superb as he got the Blues within arm's reach. Craig Mayman and Flanagan combined, with Flanagan handing the Blues the lead for the first time since the opening minutes of the contest.
Flanagan wasn't finished as his final major sealing the win.
