DRIVEN by emotion, Karingal dished out an 82-point hiding to Langwarrin in Peninsula league on Saturday. The Bulls dedicated the game to their popular timekeeper Max Greenbury, who died last October.

Rousing pre-game speeches by club stalwart Jeff Walton and captain Luke Van Raay saw a pumped-up Karingal at Ballam Park.

"Luke said he's not accepting anything but a win today," Karingal coach Brendan Dunne said.

"It was good. Maxxie is considered a club legend, even though he never kicked a footy in anger with us. It was important to pay tribute to him."

Karingal started with a 5.2 to 1.2 first quarter, and didn't let up.

Langwarrin suffered a blow in the opening minutes when playing-coach Paul Wheatley tore a hamstring, leaving the side short.

The Bulls' midfield was red-hot, led by former St Kilda-listed Sam McGarry.

"Sam McGarry had his best game for the club by a mile, he played really good footy; he ran, he kicked goals ... it's sort of what we've been waiting for from Sammy," Dunne said.

Michael Burke, Grant Goodall, Callan Dixon and David Hirst were dominant.

"We really put it on the midfield during the week," Dunne said. "And today they stood up."

Meanwhile, Frankston YCW had to produce something special to shake off Mornington at The Kennel.

An upset was on the cards before the Stonecats unleashed an 8.1 to 1.1 last quarter to run out 49-point winners. Young forward Ryley Hodson kicked four goals, while skipper Anthony Barry and Jie Coghlan were lively.

Early-season surprise packets Edi-Asp gave another impressive display to dispatch Mt Eliza by 43 points. Matthew Kremmer (6 goals) and Tim Mavric were outstanding and Nick Connellan was best-on-ground as the Eagles won 20.16 (136) to 14.9 (93).

Seaford opened its winning account with a 15-point win over Chelsea. After several lead changes, the Tigers got home on the back of Aaron Turner, Aaron Walton and Mark Di Blasio.

Bonbeach led throughout to beat Pines by 34 points. The Sharks' forward line of Calhan McQueen (4 goals), Justin Bennett (4), Michael Turville (3) and Dale Donkin (3) functioned well.

Round 3: Chelsea v Bonbeach, Mt Eliza v Karingal, Pines v Seaford, Frankston YCW v Langwarrin, Edi-Asp v Mornington.
