boisdale briagalongGippsland Times |A FIVE-goal to two final quarter helped Boisdale-Briagolong overrun Lucknow by 10 points to record its second straight victory in East Gippsland football.

The visiting Magpies came out of the blocks strongly, kicking 6.3 to 2.3 in the opening term to take a 24-point lead into the first break.

Despite a much tighter contest in the second and third quarters, the away side maintained its intensity throughout to lead by 13 points at the final change. From there it was all the Bombers, with 5.7 to 2.2 in the final quarter enough for the home side to run out a 12.19 (91) to 12.9 (81) winner.

Nicoll Sandison was the Bombers' best, while Michael White and Daniel Kosky both contributed three goals in the win.

For Lucknow, Shaun Ryan returned to the goal kickers list after being held goal-less against Paynesville, while James Sanford kicked two and was the Magpies' most influential player.

The win saw Boisdale Briagolong jump into the top four, while Lucknow slipped to sixth.

WY Yung continued its strong start to 2015, entrenching itself in the top four with a 10-goal thrashing of Lindenow.

The Tigers were challenged in the first quarter, going into the break ahead by just seven points.

After quarter-time the Tigers emerged as the side which reached a grand final last year, kicking 5.4 to 0.1 in the second quarter to blow the game wide open.

The Tigers continued their dominance in the second half, completely blowing away their opponents to run out winners 14.16 (100) to 5.10 (40).

Five multiple goal scorers helped the Tigers on their way to victory, with Lloyd Powell and Brayden McCarry both contributing with three.

Jack Van Reyk was best-on-ground for the Cats, while Darren Allen was their only multiple goal kicker with two.
