McLean played for Maryborough in its narrow 11-point loss to Kangaroo Flat in round three and has agreed to play for the club against Gisborne at Barkers Oval, Princes Park.

The Magpies will also fly in talented Northern Territory-based duo Dion Munkara and Joey Collinson.

“This Saturday night is the club ball and we wanted to make it a big weekend for the club,’’ Maryborough president Terry Hillier said.

“We’ll probably have the strongest team we’ve had for the season on the field this Saturday and we’re hoping to get as many people around the club as possible.

“Brock (McLean) was great for us when he played earlier in the year and we’re very happy to have him back with us this week.”

Munkara showed plenty in his one game for the club against Sandhurst on Anzac Day.

“We would have loved to have Dion come back to the club earlier than this, but we’ve had trouble getting him down,’’ Hillier said.

“The game he played against Sandhurst it was really wet, but he did some really exciting things and kicked a couple of goals.

“We’d love to see what Dion can do in dry conditions.”

Collinson has already played four games for Maryborough this season, kicking three goals.

Bendigo Pioneers midfielder Bailey Edwards will also return to the Maryborough line-up.

On a negative note, the Magpies will be without key forward Matthew Bond who has taken an automatic one-match suspension after being reported in last week’s loss to Kangaroo Flat.

Hillier said the club had already started advertising for its 2016 senior coaching position.

“It’s been up for a week or so and we’ve already had a few nibbles, which is a good sign for the club,’’ Hillier said.

"It's been a tough season, but we feel as though we're on the right track."
