The Courier | The Lions blew the Lakers away after half time.
REDAN 13.12 (90) d LAKE WENDOUREE 7.11 (53)
REDAN has almost locked in top spot on the Ballarat Football League ladder with a 37-point demolition of Lake Wendouree.
The Lions were simply too good in the second half at Wendouree Reserve, with the match relocated due to the poor condition of City Oval.
Three third quarter goals to the maroon and gold’s Nathan Horbury was pivotal in turning the match in Redan’s favour as it took the game away from Lake Wendouree.
Earlier, Nick Willox kicked three goals in the second quarter for Redan.
BALLARAT 17.14 (116) d MELTON 11.12 (78)
Ballarat kicked 12 goals to two in the second half to run out 38-point winners of Melton at MacPherson Park.
A lack-luster first half saw the Swans trailing by 17 points at the main break, before the tide well and truly turned.
Shane Hutchinson was dominant through the midfield, Nick O’Farrell kicked three goals while Zane Thompson and Tyler Constable kicked trhee each.
For Melton, Liam Carter was named best on ground with three goals, while Mitch Brockwell also contributed three.
DARLEY 19.10.(124) d SEBASTOPOL 8.1 (49)
Darely overcame the heavy mud at Marty Busch Reserve to beat Sebastopol by 75 points.
Played in atrocious conditions, the Devils put the foot down after quarter time to end the Burra resistance.
Sebastopol had stuck with Darley in the opening term to trail by just four points at quarter time, but could not maintain the intensity through.
Unsurprisingly, Rowan Marshall was once again best on ground for Sebastopol and kicked three goals, as did Tyler O’Sullivan-Kirchner.
For the Devils, Dane Grenfell kicked six majors, while Steve Kennedy booted four goals from the midfield to be named best on ground.
