EAST Point coach Dan Jordan says his charges are jumping out of their skins ahead of tomorrow’s Ballarat Football League Anzac Day clash with Ballarat at the Eastern Oval.

He said they had already put their disastrous start – a 109-point demolition at the hands of North Ballarat City on Saturday night – to the Red Onion BFL season behind them.

Jordan said while the heavy loss had left the Kangaroos deflated, they remained confident of being in the finals mix this season.

“We’re still confident we’ll be thereabouts,” he said.

Jordan acknowledged that a defeat of that nature did present a mental challenge, but a short turnaround had the benefit of having his players quickly turn their focus to the next match.

“I have no doubt we’ll be right,” he said.

East Point players had a recovery session and review on Sunday, then a sharp, light training session last night.

While not prepared to reveal names, Jordan said there would most likely be a couple of changes to the Kangaroos’ line-up to face the Swans.

“There won’t be anything drastic.”

Ballarat goes into the match after a first-up three-point win over Lake Wendouree on Saturday.

Swans coach Ash Baker said he had put his players through a light run on Monday night ahead of last night’s main session.

He said it was difficult to gauge where teams stood so early in the season, but he had no doubt East Point would come out hard after its loss.

“They’re a quality side,” he said.

Last time they met, East Point knocked Ballarat out of the 2012 premiership race with a 28-point win in an elimination final, with that coming after a 1-1 split in the home and away season.

Tomorrow’s senior clash will start at the later time of 3.15pm.
