sebastopolThe Courier |NORTH Ballarat Roosters-listed James Keeble is a chance to line up for Sebastopol in the Ballarat Football League on Saturday.

If he does play against Bacchus Marsh, it will be Keeble’s first match with Sebastopol.

This is the first season Keeble has had the Kookaburras as his home club.

Keeble is returning after missing two weeks with a hamstring strain.

He was close to playing with Sebastopol at the weekend, but Selkirk Roosters coach Gerard FitzGerald made the call to give Keeble another week off in an effort to ensure he is fit for the last home and away round of the VFL season on Saturday, August 29. North Ballarat has a bye this week.

FitzGerald said Keeble had undertaken additional running on Monday and was looking to play with Sebastopol.

Roosters co-captain Matt Austin has pulled up well from his first game back after knee trouble. Austin played with Sebastopol against Sunbury on Saturday.

FitzGerald said Austin had some general soreness, but importantly his knee was okay.

Meanwhile, North Melbourne’s Daniel Wells will continue his comeback from an Achilles injury in the VFL Development League with Werribee on Saturday.

Wells marked his return from long-term injury with North Ballarat against Collingwood on Saturday – playing 34 minutes. He had 14 disposals.

With Wells aligned with the Roosters, VFL rules do not allow him to play in the Werribee seniors.

“It’s more about getting another game under his belt at any level really so we can get some more run into him,” North Melbourne director of football Geoff Walsh said.
