A SIX-goal third-quarter barrage delivered East Point its second victory of the BFL season at the expense of Bacchus Marsh on Saturday.

After a relatively even contest before half-time, the Red Lion Kangaroos were ignited by coach and full-forward Dan Jordan who finished with seven goals for the second week in succession.

East Point dominated the second half with 11 goals to four after the main change, on the way to a 16.16 (112) to 7.13 (55) win at Maddingley Park.

While the Kangaroos benefited from Jordan's formidable presence in the forward 50, it was their pressure elsewhere around the ground that ultimately cracked the Cobras.

"It was all about pressure around the ball," Jordan said. "I don't think we had a single player who did not contribute.

"We had a big emphasis on pressure at training. We've had a few weeks where our pressure was not great.

"It was good this time but we need to do it against top four sides as well."

East Point started brightly with the first three goals of the match, immediately putting the Cobras on the defensive.

Bacchus Marsh showed some fight in the latter half of the first quarter and matched the Kangaroos in the second quarter to be within 16 points at the main change.

Even when in the ascendency, though, the Cobras were inefficient with the ball compared with their more experienced opponents.

The composure disappeared entirely, however, in the third term after Jordan kicked three goals in a row.

"I just think we have too many blokes who, when they are not playing well, play really badly," Bacchus Marsh coach Doug Hawkins said.

"You do get that with young guys but, even when they aren't playing well, they need to still tackle, apply pressure and do those things.

"It shows we've got a long way to go.

"We're going to go back to training and work on our kicking skills, especially when we are under pressure."

Paul Koderenko celebrated his 30th birthday with a fine display in the ruck for East Point, with Nick Hind, Daniel Tung and Hayden Walters also among the Roos' better players.

Daniel Bonnicci and Tyson Shea were busy for the Cobras, while under-18.5-listed player Tom Wardell put up a creditable effort at full-back against Jordan.
