Media Release | The McDonald’s Ballarat Football Netball League inducted six new members into the Ballarat FNL Hall of Fame on Monday night, with one existing Hall of Fame member elevated to the status of Legend.
In front of a crowd of over 150 people at the Ballarat Leagues Club, the following six people were inducted into the Ballarat FNL Hall of Fame and elevation to Legend status was also announced:
Legend Elevation – ALLAN ABRAMS
Allan Abrams is one of the most decorated and recognized administrator, coach and player in the history of the Ballarat FNL, and now he joins Bill Henderson, Jim Gull, John Northey, George King and Peter O’Connell as Legends of the Ballarat Football Netball League, elevated to Legend after his induction into the Ballarat FNL Hall of Fame back in 2008.
Allan’s list of achievements includes:

BARRY ALLAN (GOLDEN POINT FNC)
• Played 209 games with Golden Point from 1974 to around 1990
• Three time premiership player with Golden Point – 1980, 1981 & 1987
• Runners Up on three occasions – 1976, 1983 & 1989
• Captain Coach of Golden Point in 1983
• Reserves Coach of Golden Point in 1988
• Officially retired from playing in 1989 whilst filling in a few times in the reserves after that
• Selector for Golden Point for several years after official retirement in 1989
• Golden Point President from 1995 to 1999
• Life Member of Golden Point FC and East Point FNC
• Awarded Best Defender of the Year on several occasions
• BFL Interleague Representative on three occasions – 1978, 1980 & 1981
• Played 102 games with Lemnos FC (now Shepparton Swans) in the GVFL
• Played 14 games with Geelong West in the old VFA in 1974
• Played 21 games with Waubra FC in the CHFL in 1982 as Captain Coach, also won the Premiership that year

• Played at Rupanyup Football Club in 1972,73 and 74
• Won Premiership with Rupanyup FC in 1973 and won the Best & Fairest in that year
• Wimmera Football League Interleague player in 1972
• Redan Football Club Senior Premiership player in 1975, 1976 & 1977
• Played 113 senior games
• North Ballarat Junior Football Club - Team Manager – 1997, 1998 & 1999
