Bendigo FNLFixture Release | The 2023 BFNL season will commence on 15th April with several Round 1 matches of interest, with BFNL Grand Final day scheduled for Saturday 23rd September 2023.

Some key features of the 2022 BFNL fixture include:

• A MASSIVE Round 1, featuring South Bendigo FNC unveiling their impressive new home base facilities at Harry Trott Kennington, along with 2022 Grand Final rematches between Gisborne and Strathfieldsaye in the Seniors, and Sandhurst v Kangaroo Flat in the A-Grade
• Golden Square will celebrate Bulldog and BFNL star Jack Geary's 200th match at home in Round 1
• Sandhurst will battle Golden Square at the QEO during Round 3 for the Ron Best Memorial Cup
• The Pat Cronin Foundation Round returns on the 6 th of May, with a feature match TBC
• South Bendigo will host Sandhurst for the annual Graeme Wright Memorial Cup in round 5
• The current Round 6 (May 20th – May 27th TBC) remains floating with further announcements to follow regarding Interleague participation. Round 6 will be played whichever weekend proposed Interleague matches are not scheduled, or this 2-week block could yet revert to a split round as in 2022 (dependant on ongoing negotiations)
• Indigenous Round 7, with the annual feature match TBC early in 2023
• A huge King’s Birthday Round 8
• League general bye July 1st
• A September Final’s Series, kicking off on Saturday 2nd September
• BFNL Grand Final day on Saturday the 23rd of September

As is regular process, clubs can continue to negotiate changes to start times into the new year, with any changes to be approved, announced, and captured online. The BFNL maintain the right to amend any fixtures from time to time, including possible future implications of COVID-19 restrictions on season fixturing.

Unfortunately, the Bendigo Football Netball League were unable to complete positive ongoing Interleague negotiations with another major league prior to Christmas, however discussions and negotiations will continue into the New Year with further announcements to be made in due course.

The proposed Interleague provision within the current fixture for either May 20th or May 27th , may again revert to a split round if required. The BFNL can confirm the participation of 17 & Under and Open representative netball teams in the 2023 Netball Victoria Association Championships, to continue from the success of our 2022 representative netball program.

Further announcements regarding coaching appointments and selection trials will occur early in 2023.

All 2023 fixtures will be uploaded to the new football and netball databases, PlayHQ and Netball Connect, in due course.
