Match Reviews | Cohuna Kangas kept finals hopes alive as it thrashed Mallee Eagles in Saturday’s 14th round of senior footy in the Radio 3SH-backed Central Murray season.
The Kangas marked a fifth consecutive victory to now have a win-loss tally of seven-six.
Since a 37-point loss at home to Kerang in the ninth round the Jack Geary-coached Cohuna has charged toward the top five.
The Kangas are a win and just over per cent behind the fifth-placed Balranald at four rounds to play in the home-and-away series.
On Saturday the Kangas slammed on eight goals and held the Eagles to just one in the opening term.
Mallee hit back to win the second, 13-6.
Defences were on top for most of the third quarter.
Cohuna scored 2.3 and kept the Eagles to a tally of two points.
