Ballarat FNLMatch Reviews | Saturday saw a clean sweep of wins for our away sides as we head towards the final home and away round of the season.

 Darley simply did enough to hold off the resistance of crosstown rival Bacchus Marsh at Maddingley Park on the weekend.

The win locks in a prized third place finish for Dan Jordan's men despite a Round 18 meeting with ladder leaders Melton still to come.

While the once highly anticipated showdown is essentially a 'dead rubber' there's a host of narratives on the table for both camps to explore. More later.

The Devils went into the local derby as warm favourites and were made to work hard for their win as the reigning premiers found it difficult to shrug off the young Cobras.

Darley Captain Brett Bewley (three goals) stood up in the big moments to deny the Cobras while Brady Wright made a safe return to finish best on ground honours and equal, game high four goals.

Billy Myers proved a handful posing as another aerial threat alongside Wright.
