Match Reviews | MALLEE Eagles broke the unbeaten streak of the Cohuna Kangas in Saturday’s fifth round of Radio 3SH-backe senior footy in the Central Murray league.
The Eagles were on home turf in Lalbert for the match of the round.
Mallee led 21-7 at quarter-time and 33-23 by the long break.
Cohuna fought back strongly to win the third term, 27-22.
Just five points separated the teams at the start of the last quarter.
The Harry Allen and Brent Macleod-coached Eagles responded to the challenge brilliantly.
Mallee did plenty of attacking and scored 4.2 as Cohuna added a behind.
At the final siren Mallee led 81-51.
Troy Anderson, Darcy Hourigan and Andrew Mead-Harding all finished on two goals for the Eagles.
Sole multiple goalkicker for Cohuna was Hudson Fountain on two.
