HE won't admit it, but Dan Jordan is back to his best.
An astonishing 15-goal haul against Sebastopol on Saturday took the East Point captain's season tally to 89 goals in just 13 games.
At an average of almost seven goals a game, the Kangaroos coach appears almost certain to notch up 100 goals for the year, a feat he last achieved in 2007 when he booted 112.
It is unlikely he will reach the dizzying heights of 2006 when he kicked 148 goals (including 18 in the finals series), but season 2013 has already been a year to remember for the Roos spearhead.
Saturday's bag of 15 against a depleted Sebastopol defence equalled his greatest ever haul, but as Jordan modestly said, it was made far easier when his teammates were dominating through the midfield.
"You've got guys like Jason Delaney and H (Hayden Walters) giving it to you a lot and Brad Whittaker and Jayden Hind are normally slotting it through when I'm not," he said.
East Point has kicked 221 goals this year, and Jordan has kicked 89 of them - that is more than 40 per cent of his team's majors.
The next nearest goal kicker in the Ballarat Football League is Melton South's Mathew Sutton on 56. There was a time a few years ago when many thought Jordan's best days might have been behind him.
A reconstructed finger, a broken back after crashing into the goal post, broken ribs last year; injuries were taking their toll.
However at the age of 32, Jordan is yet to miss a game this year and although he says recovery is not as easy as it once was, his body is feeling relatively fresh.
"It's good to string a few games this year, that's what I wanted at the start of the year and hopefully the goals would come," he said.
"The plan was just to get out there and play footy. It's been good this year. I'm really enjoying playing footy."
With Jordan coming out of the goal square, it seems East Point has its attacking end of the game well and truly sorted.
Now its about sorting out the defence.
