A four-point win for the reigning premier in last Saturday’s preliminary final against Mallee Eagles put the NNWU Demons into a grand final showdown with Woorinen.
The Demons faced a huge challenge in the Eagles’ nest in Lalbert.
Nyah Nyah West United kicked away to a 28-14 lead by quarter-time.
Term two was dominated by the Demons.
As the red and blue scored four goals it kept Mallee to a tally of 1.3.
By half-time NNWU led 56-23.
Quarter three went the way of the Eagles, 25-15.
Mallee kept on fighting and scored 4.2 in the last, but the Demons score of 1.1 was enough to clinch a 78-74 victory.
