Bendigo Advertiser |Dr Carol McKinstry is the newly-appointed chair of the Bendigo Football Netball League board.
It's the first time in its 140-year history the Bendigo Bank-backed league hasa woman in the top role.
After four years as BNFL chairman, Paul Byrne has stood down after a two by two-year term expired.
Byrne will stay on the board in a support for Dr McKinstry who is now in her fourth year with the BFNL board.
Dr McKinstry is a senior lecturer at Latrobe University.
