Bendigo Advertiser | GOLDEN Square took a quarter to get out of practice match mode before continuing its domination of Kangaroo Flat in their round one Bendigo Football League clash at MyJet Oval on Friday.
For the 29th-consecutive time, Golden Square defeated Kangaroo Flat, with the Bulldogs finishing 42-point Good Friday victors, 16.10 (106) to 9.10 (64).
However, the Bulldogs didn't get through unscathed.
Corey Jones limped from the ground in the second quarter with hamstring tightness, while Travis Baird’s game ended during the third quarter after copping a knock to the leg.
And in his first senior game, Mitch Edwards suffered a sprained ankle in the opening 10 minutes.
While the margin was a comfortable 42 points in favour of Golden Square, the Roos piled on the pressure early and made all the running in the first quarter.
The Roos came to play and got the jump on the Bulldogs with a solid first term with the wind.
