Logo Strathfieldsaye01Bendigo Advertiser |STRATHFIELDSAYE Storm coach Darryl Wilson will head down the Calder Highway on Saturday a worried man.

The reigning premiers are sitting pretty on top of the ladder with a 5-0 record, but Wilson is concerned about Saturday's road trip to Kyneton.

"Kyneton's form early on was very sound,'' Wilson said.

"They got hit by a couple of injuries, but they still have some top class players running around in Carafa, the two Magins and Weightman.

"Kyneton is always tougher to beat down there, so we're taking this game very seriously. We're expecting a tough contest."

For the first time this season the Storm will have its three tall forwards – Sam Mildren, Tom Bartholomew and Matt Ferguson play in the same team.

"It's exciting that we'll have Ferguson, Mildren and Bartholomew in the same forward line for the first time,'' Wilson said.

"Then we'll only have Sharp and Milne to come back into that forward line which will strengthen it even more.

"We have had to manufacture goals at times this season. We've had to rely on the ruckmen and the midfielders to kick their share of goals.

"Having a bigger structure up forward is going to make life easier for us. Those three guys have never played together so we need to get that structure going now."

Sharp (hamstring) won't return until after the inter-league break, while Milne (ankle) could resume next week against Kangaroo Flat.

Kyneton has looked good in defeating Gisborne and South Bendigo, but has been bitterly disappointing in games against clubs above it on the ladder.

The Tigers have lost to Golden Square by 64 points, Eaglehawk by 73 points and Sandhurst by 61 points.
