ILLABROOK 1.2 (8)
The Bulldogs elevated their percentage above 500 with a 198-point shellacking of their namesake at home.
This result follows Daylesford's 67-point win over Ballan in round one, a 93-point victory against Learmonth and a 187-point drubbing of Rokewood-Corindhap.
Illabarook booted the first goal of the afternoon but, after registering 1.2 by quarter time, failed to trouble the scorers again.
Daylesford, however, ran riot up forward, with young gun Sebastian Walsh climbing to the top of the league goal-kicking chart with a bag of nine. A total of 12 players split the big sticks, with Luke Beattie and Max Risstrom with four majors apiece.
The standouts were plentiful for the winners, with Walsh, Risstrom, Michael Cummings and Luke Said all influential, while 16-year-old Jeremy Steen got his first taste of senior footy and acquitted himself well.
"Sometimes it can get ugly playing in those games, but we stuck to playing the way that works for us," Daylesford coach Andrew Button said.
"As long as we stick to that in the coming weeks when it gets bit tougher, we should be right."
The ladder-leaders have three-straight fixutres against top-eight teams from last year. And it starts this weekend with a clash against Creswick.
"They were the only side we didn't beat last year, so this is our chance to pay them back," Button said.
Illabarook was best served by James Walton, Tim Conder and Brandon Greenwood, with David Tung kicking its one and only goal for the day.
