BIRREGURRA is through to its third consecutive Colac and District Football League grand final after eliminating Simpson from the premiership race on Saturday.

A seven-goal opening term helped set up the Saints preliminary final win and set up a showdown with South Colac in next Saturday's decider.

It took just 30 seconds for the Saints to serve notice to the Tigers of their intentions with young forward Nick Lynch booting the open goal of the game.

The Saints were able to cover the loss of injured forward Sam Green as Lynch, Mark Whelan and Jack Moorfoot all fired.
Simpson, chasing its first ever CDFL grand final appearance, was let down by poor ball handling and skill errors in the opening term.

The Tigers couldn't cope with the Saints' pressure and it seemed everytime a Simpson player had the ball they had to rush their possession, causing turnovers.

By half-time the Saints had the match all but wrapped up, leading by 62 points and they could start thinking ahead to the grand final.
