Geelong District FNLK rock | Three-quarters of the GDFL’s club have told their league they don’t want to play in 2020, concerned at the financial impact if crowds aren’t allowed and the effect of stringent COVID-19 protocols on already-stretched club volunteers.

krockfootball.com.au understands nine of the 12 clubs voted to cancel the season at last week’s presidents’ meeting.

Following the meeting, GDFL president Neville Whitley revealed his league would wait until AFL Barwon had made a call on the BFL and GFL seasons on June 9 going ahead before making a decision.
