The injured South Barwon co-coach has been stabilised and moved from the intensive care unit to the spinal ward in Melbourne's Austin Hospital, the Tutungi family said in a statement.

"Casey remains immobilised and has a lot of swelling and inflammation around the damaged area of the spinal cord however he is in good spirits and taking it one day at a time,'' the statement said.

"Unfortunately at this stage visiting hours are still limited until his condition improves further.

"The family would like to once again thank everyone for their love and support.''
