AFL BarwonMedia Release | We understand that the latest lockdown and restrictions have been a blow for our junior and senior players wanting to compete in the 2021 finals series. We are feeling it too.

The last 18 months or so have been tough and we wanted to send a thank you to our community for your resilience and support.

Thank you to our dedicated AFL Barwon staff. We are so lucky to have a passionate and hard-working team who are ultimately responsible for providing operational excellence for football and netball competitions in the region. They work in this industry because they are passionate and committed to football and netball and over the past two seasons, they have had some tough times and had to communicate very difficult decisions.

Thank you to our sponsors and partners who have stuck with this over the last two seasons. Without your support, we couldn’t operate, and you all have been so understanding and supportive.

And a final big thank you to our affiliates and the football and netball community. Your support has positively impacted our team and contributes to their ability to execute the important work they do. It has been tough at club level this year but be proud of what you have achieved so far. AFL Barwon is strong because of the strength of its clubs. You all do an amazing job.

Let me make this clear. This is not us waving the white flag. WE ARE NOT DONE YET. We want to find a way to complete the 2021 season and we will be working hard to put together scenarios to achieve this.

We intend to #playon in 2021
