Bellarine FNLk Rock Football | Geelong Amateur co-coach Dan Holroyd says his team has put its finals destiny back in its own hands following a 15-point win over Newcomb at Grinter Reserve.

With Queenscliff losing to Ocean Grove, Ammos have moved back into fifth spot – half-a-game clear of the Coutas – following a 12.12 (84) to 10.9 (69) victory.

“A loss yesterday would have put us right in amongst the pack fighting for that spot,” Holroyd said.

“I’m not saying we’re miles in front, but to be sitting in fifth spot gives us the luxury of not relying on other results now.

“We just focus on winning the games we need to win.”
