Bellarine FNLk Rock football | Barwon Heads has landed a mid-season recruiting blow that will likely influence the BFL premiership race with the addition of former AFL player Tony Armstrong.

Armstrong, who played 35 AFL games across three clubs – Adelaide, Sydney and Collingwood – is no stranger to the Geelong region after spending three seasons at GFL club Lara, including two as coach of the Cats.

Coach Dan Donati revealed Armstrong’s friendship with key forward Nathan Brown from their time at Collingwood helped the Seagulls land the skilful 32-year-old

“He was there on the weekend to watch Browny play,” Donati.
