K Rock Football | He ran out onto the ground with a smile on his face, and that’s how it continued for Oscar Brownless as he made his return to football with Geelong Amateur.
The former Geelong AFL-listed midfielder hadn’t played at any level since suffering a serious knee injury while playing in the SANFL for West Adelaide in April 2022.
However, Brownless savoured the occasion as Ammos beat Portarlington last week in what he hopes will be the first of four or five home-and-away games he will feature in.
“It was great fun; it was exactly what I was after,” he told K rock’s Beyond the Boundary podcast.
“I actually forgot how much fun it is to be playing footy.
“And there’s no real feeling that compares to winning a game.
“When you’re in the rooms afterwards, you have a beer with everyone. It’s pretty hard to beat that.”
Geelong Amateur has made one change for the clash with Torquay at McCartney Oval.
