GUN Torquay forward Scott Hughes can go a long way towards bringing up a century of goals this season when his team lines up against bottom side Portarlington on Saturday.
With four rounds to go, Hughes is on 77 goals after a haul of five in the win over Anglesea on Saturday.
Torquay, which is in fourth place, has matches against fellow finals contenders Queenscliff, Drysdale and Ocean Grove to round out the season.
The Tigers are two points adrift of third-placed Drysdale, which faces unbeaten Queenscliff on Saturday.
A big bag could ensure Hughes takes out the goal-kicking in what has been a two-horse race. Barwon Heads star Daniel Hovey is on 72 with games against Modewarre, Geelong Amateur, Newcomb and Drysdale to come.
