Hampden FNLLeague News | The Hampden Football Netball League is set for another thrilling season in 2025, with a host of high-profile recruits and a competitive landscape that promises excitement from start to finish.

With the league expecting a close and hard-fought season, several big names are set to light up the competition. Among them are Geelong’s Gary Rohan, Sydney’s Colin O’Riordan, three-time Maskell Medallist Levi Dare, 2022 League Best and Fairest winner Daniel Jackson, and elite goal-kicker Sam Dobson. They join an influx of talent from across the state, further boosting the already high standard of the HFNL.

Reigning premiers South Warrnambool will once again be the team to beat. The Roosters boast a deep and talented list, but they will face a determined pack of challengers. Port Fairy, Portland, and Hamilton are all expected to rise in 2025, while last year’s finalists—North Warrnambool, Terang Mortlake, Koroit, and Warrnambool—are eager to take the next step and challenge for the title.

A major milestone for the league will be the unveiling of the newly redeveloped Melville Oval this weekend. Hamilton, which has been unable to host games at the venue since 2023, will finally return to its home ground. The upgraded facility promises to be a showcase venue for the HFNL and a significant boost for football and netball in the region.
