LEADING North Geelong to the minor premiership has secured Darren Ryan a nomination for coach of the year.

Ryan was one of three nominees added to the list of hopefuls in the Promote-It Trophy & Clothing Company Coach of the Year award, with Queenscliff's Tom Limb and South Barwon pair James Garvey and Casey Tutungi also rewarded for guiding their teams to the minor premierships.

They join earlier nominees Cory Bauer and Andrew Lovick (Geelong Amateur), Nick Washington (Geelong West) and Grant Tanner (Grovedale).

Bauer and Lovick have guided Ammos into a finals campaign in their first season as coaches, while Washington put the Cheetahs in contention for the Geelong and District Football League finals after several seasons near the bottom of the ladder.

Tanner has put the Tigers in a position to win a historic premiership after reaching the finals for the first time since 1997.

Clubs are still eligible to forward nominations in the senior category, as well as for youth, junior, Auskick, senior female and junior female coaches.
